Privacy Policy

This privacy policy describes what data Dumb Browser processes and how in-app purchases for the full version are handled.

Core Principle

Dumb Browser is built as a simple browser for direct links. The app stores settings such as blockers, privacy options, language, and accent color locally on the device. These local settings are not transmitted to our own servers.

When opening websites, Apple WebKit processes the technically necessary web data so that the respective page can be loaded. The privacy practices of the visited websites are outside the control of Dumb Browser.

QR Code Scanner

When using the QR code scanner, Dumb Browser requires access to the camera. The camera is only used to recognize QR codes. Images or video data are not stored by Dumb Browser or transmitted to our own servers.

In-App Purchases and Full Version with Apple StoreKit

The processing and provision of the full version takes place exclusively locally on your device and directly via the official servers of Apple Inc. (Apple StoreKit 2). No transaction or purchase data is transmitted to third-party servers.

The actual payment processing and transaction management is handled by Apple and the App Store. Dumb Browser never processes or stores your payment data (e.g., credit card information).

Legal Basis

The processing of local app settings is carried out, where applicable, to provide the app functions.

The processing of purchase and subscription data is carried out directly via Apple for contract fulfillment or to carry out pre-contractual measures when the full version is purchased, restored, or checked.

Retention Period

Local settings remain stored on the device until they are changed or the app is deleted.

Purchase and subscription data are stored by Apple according to their own retention rules, as far as required for purchase receipts, restoration, support, legal obligations, or abuse prevention.

Rights of Data Subjects

Depending on applicable law, users may request access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, or objection.

Requests regarding data that Dumb Browser stores locally on the device can usually be implemented by deleting the app or resetting the settings on the device.

For requests regarding purchase and subscription data, Apple may also be involved because this service provides the purchase processing and purchase management.

Changes

This privacy policy may be adjusted if features, services, or legal requirements change.
